I work with adults (ages 18-65 years old) who have Pre-Diabetes, Gestational Diabetes, Type 1 Diabetes and Pregnancy, Type 1 Diabetes, and Type 2 Diabetes who are seeking to improve their Diabetes management with:

  • Lower Hemoglobin A1c levels (blood test that measures your average blood sugar levels for a period of about three months)

  • Find movement and exercise activities that are enjoyable and consistent

  • Learn how food, eating schedules, and emotions can impact blood sugar management

  • Actively make and participate in lifestyle changes to benefit blood sugar management

  • Tackle food fears and foster food freedom

  • Find balance in all food options while living with Pre-Diabetes or Diabetes

  • Guidance with weight loss and weight management as desired by the client

My Experience

  • I have over 10 years of experience practicing in the field of nutrition and dietetics with adult patients and clients as a registered dietitian nutritionist.

  • Holds a B.S. in Human and Nutrition and Foods degree from West Virginia University

  • Completed a traditional dietetic internship program at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina

  • I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN)

  • Completed a M.S. in Nutrition degree at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina

  • Board member for the Blue Ridge Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics since 2014

  • Awarded the Emerging Dietetic Leader accolade from the Virginia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics in 2018

  • I have specific professional experience working with adult patients from a wide range of health backgrounds in both inpatient and outpatient clinical settings

  • My heart and passion is working with clients one on one in nutrition-focused counseling sessions assisting them with taking their health into their own hands and finding action plans and goals that work specifically for their desires and needs
